This video provides an overview of a NUD control I built using InterSystems Zen technology. Below is a summary of the attributes/features that can be customized/used for the control:
1. The ability to specify the minimum and maximum values, allowing a custom range.
2. The ability to include/exclude the increment and decrement buttons.
3. The ability to include/exclude the first (to move to the minimum) and last (to move to the maximum) values.
4. The ability to specify the value to use for incrementing and the value to use for decrementing (these values can be different from one another).
5. The ability to specify what images to use for the buttons.
6. The ability to specify a valueList and displayList to handle the valid values for the control.
7. The ability to position the buttons to the left or right of the input control---you can also choose to "flank" the input control.
8. The ability to specify whether the user is able to manually change the numeric value, in addition to using the nud buttons.
9. The ability to use keyboard shortcuts:
9a.The use of the "up" and "right" arrow keys to increment the value.
9b.The use of the "down" and "left" arrow keys to decrement the value.
9c.The use of the "home" key to move to the first (minimum) value.
9d.The use of the "end" key to move to the last (maximum) value.
10.The ability to specify the format and scale to use while displaying the numeric value...these settings are used to format the displayed value using the $fn function.
11.The ability to specify the alignment of the text within the textbox...defaults to right-aligned.
12.The ability to data bind the control to a property of a model class.
