This is an odd situation, or appears to be one to me. This fight was held on the undercard of Riddick Bowe vs Larry Donald (infamous Bowe fight where he swings and lands on Donald twice while standing at a podium for a press conference promoting the fight) and that fight was shown on HBO, commentated upon by the usual crew of the period, Lampley, Foreman, and Merchant. But this Barrera fight, held on the same day and at the same location, was aired by what seems to be the usual crew from the Forum Boxing promotional outfit. During the Barrera fight, banners can be seen bearing the logo/name of Forum boxing. During the main event of Bowe vs Donald, those same banners are replaced by ones with the HBO logo/name upon them. Maybe it isn't all that weird and it is just something I don't know of but if you know, feel free to explain in comments.

Cook was a four to one underdog.
Cook marks up badly with swelling to and blow both eyes throughout the bout.
Cook badly wobbled by a series of hard Barrera punches and down near the end of round one. He rises to his feet as the ten second marker sounds.
Moments after his best rally of the fight, Cook is caught with a hard hand by Barrera that buckles his knees. He then becomes trapped against the ropes and finally takes a knee after heavy Barrera pressure. The referee simultaneously waves off the contest.
