SPY and ES Futures Market Recap for October 21, 2025.

Hey there, traders! Welcome to the Ticks and Trades Channel. My name is Sam, and I trade the futures – primarily the S&P 500 E-minis, which is the symbol ES. The purpose of this channel is to demonstrate how I trade the E-minis and share with you the outcome of each trade I take. Most of the trades are recorded live so you can see some of the behind-the-scenes of my approach.

It is my hope that after following along and observing this trading strategy at work, you will find value in it and want to learn this strategy for yourself. So, how do we do it the Ticks and Trades way?

We start each morning by identifying levels and zones of support and resistance in the SPY that we use for entering trades in the ES futures. This work is completed well before the opening bell each morning. If you know where to look, the market is telling you where it’s likely headed next – or at least it’s telling you where bull/bear battles are likely to occur. And it’s those places where we’re able to pull points and dollars from the market.

Based on this approach, I've spent years refining a trading strategy that has worked well for me. There is a process and a set of rules to follow in this strategy for trading the E-mini futures as price in the SPY comes into these levels and zones. It is consistent and predictable. Over the long term, 80% of my trading days are profitable.

After the closing bell, we come back to the chart from the morning to discuss any trades that may have resulted from the day’s levels. We also look at some longer timeframes and get an idea of what the near term might look like. Any profit gained, or any loss incurred for the day from trading these levels is logged in a tracking system that we go over at the end of the video. This way, you can see the long-term effectiveness of this trading approach.
