Birzai to S Dariaus - MSFS 2020 - Baltic Tour Leg 16

S Dariaus is an airfield in the south of the city of Kaunas which is the second-largest city in Lithuania and an important cultural, economic, and historical center. Located at the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris rivers, it has played a significant role throughout Lithuanian history. Here’s a brief summary of Kaunas:


Founded in the 14th century, Kaunas has a rich history and has long been a strategic location.
It served as the temporary capital of Lithuania from 1920 to 1939 during the interwar period when Vilnius was under Polish control.
Kaunas has preserved much of its old town, with historical buildings like Kaunas Castle, the Town Hall, and churches dating back to the Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque periods.

For the 16th and final leg of this Baltic tour we depart Birzai in the BN-2 Islander for the 83nm flight to Kaunas.
