Mosky/Souldim/Ymuze/HSY/Muslady Silver Horse Pedal Straight-Off-The-Packet Demo ('les paul' version)

Описание к видео Mosky/Souldim/Ymuze/HSY/Muslady Silver Horse Pedal Straight-Off-The-Packet Demo ('les paul' version)

Signal Chain:
Guitar -- Silver Horse -- Cuvave Cube Baby (pre-amp simulation & cabinet simulation mode only w/ minimal delay)

Guitar Tuning: E♭, Drop C#

Contrary to their Deluxe Preamp unit, Mosky didn't conceal anything about this pedal, as shown on their web page. The Silver Horse unit is indeed Mosky's attempt to produce a copy of the OG 'silver' Klon unit. However, Mosky's unit appears to also have an added flair through a toggle switch which boosts the treble a bit with just enough top-end to allow its wielder to cut further through the mix should the situation call for it.

The being said, here's a copy/paste of its write-up that i got from their web page...

"Silver Horse Guitar Effect Pedal -overdrive/boost

Bassed on the Klon Centaru professional

Add one mode.

CLONE Klon Centaur PROFESSIONAL OVERDRIVE True Bypass
Mini Klon Centaur Effect Pedal

3 control knobs (Volume, Gain, and Tone) allow you to quickly dial in your tones,

VOICE : Two Clip modes to choose ,NORMAL / SOFT

Famous Overdrive/Boost voicing
Output(Level), Gain, Treble controls, VOICE"

Famous, indeed...

Silver or gold versions, I've personally never had nor even heard first-hand any of those OG Klon units at all. So, I do have no idea how close (or how far) Mosky's 'Klon' units are compared to them real ones. But, as the wise old saying goes, "if you can't appreciate the copy, then it's quite likely that you won't appreciate the original either..."

Fortunately, this channel's all about cheap pedals. Hence, the desire to seize the moment & enjoy what this thing had to offer instead - straight off the packet.

Personally speaking, the pedal's got its own character & quirks. Regardless whether those toggle switches do work or not, I personally think that the pedal still sounded great especially for its price-point of course. My only complain is that the 'boost' section would've at least had lesser grit or would've sounded a bit cleaner when its knob's dialed all the way down.

For direct monitoring from the 'cube baby', I'm using an ATH-M20X headphones by Audio Technica. However, a parallel out also directly coming from the 'cube baby' itself goes to the audio input of my phone, which is just an old Samsung J6+ unit. And, upon transferring the 'ATH' into the 'J6' for previewing, there really isn't much variance at all. BUT, soon as I've watched the file/video from my desktop, which drives a pair of Bose Companion 2 Series II monitors, the discrepancies in audio quality is fairly large. Apparently, the 'ATH' trumps the 'companions' this time around, though.

Hence, quite likely, the tone you'll be hearing from your end may not give justice to how I've heard the pedal when i had it tested through my own system.
