What Is Inquiry-Based Learning? (3/6)

Описание к видео What Is Inquiry-Based Learning? (3/6)

In this series of video lectures, we look at inquiry-based learning as a way of educating for critical thinking. In the video, I will present what inquiry-based learning is, how it is generally practiced through four forms of inquiry, and how the process toward greater capacity of inquiry goes through five phases. I will also address whether all students need to become researchers, which research-based teaching and learning implies is the goal. Finally, I will summarize the lecture and discuss how inquiry-based learning can develop students’ critical thinking skills.

The lecture has been part of a course on educating for critical thinking in higher education. It has been adapted from a previous lecture on inquiry-based learning. You can see that lecture here:    • Inquiry-based learning
