Dodi li (Sher)

Dodi Li (Cantor Steve Sher z”l): (originally posted July 12, 2020) I’m recording and posting one Jewish prayer (almost) each weekday morning for the duration of this health crisis - recording in one take, posting whatever comes out, including any errors. Our paths crossed a few times because he lived in the Galaxy Towers in Guttenberg, NJ, not far from where I live. He was an exceedingly talented musician and composer and religious leader. Long before I met him, I knew his melody for Dodi Li (presented here -- but listen to him singing it together with Rabbi Joe Black and Cantor Rikki Lippitz here    • Dodi Li - Vintage Cantor Steve Sher, ...  ). Naomi and I used this beautiful melody in our wedding procession (like numerous other couples getting married). May his memory be for a blessing.
