Motorola R2001A RF Radio Test Set Repair (ANOTHER ONE) 1-1000MHz component level repair. Comms test.

Here we have another Motorola R2001 RF radio test set communications analyzer which has a faulty display & exhibits intermittent shut down when the PCB's sustain vibration or heat expansion while running. We provoke the faults to appear then desolder the control pcb's as they suffer with dry joints we also replace some capacitors which have clearly leaked too. To end we carry out an adjustment of the RF Attenuator pad - RF Wattmeter section to align it with a calibrated reference & read the technical description of operation for the radio test test. We also reveal the separate frequency counter mode does not function beyond 35MHz which is correct as the manual describes its operation & points towards RF frequency counter by use of the tx OFFSET in the "gen monitor modes".
