"Taler Schwingen" is a tradition that originates from the Appenzell region in eastern Switzerland.
You keep a large coin spinning on its edge around the inside a porcelain bowl. It's both a skill game and a musical instrument as the coin creates a very distinct sound while it's spinning.

Taler Schwingen with a Bilibo is great fun and actually easier to learn and safer than with a porcelain bowl because of the smooth continuous surface inside a Bilibo. The coin is merely thrown in roughly with the left hand, while the right hand moves the Bilibo round and round in concentric circles. The smaller the circle described the better. The coin may jump about at first, but will soon settle down and run smoothly round the side of the Bilibo. Try to keep it in motion as long as possible.

Many variations are possible. You can use a rubber ball instead of the coin which makes it easier for smaller children. They might also need to use both hands to hold the Bilibo.
Very skilled players on the other hand can even try to get two coins spinning at the same time.

Each object will create a different sound as it is spinning. A Bilibo Pixel makes a characteristic bubbly sound for instance. A rubber ball creates a low growling sound while coins create a high pitched, rather loud sound.

If you use an non-spherical object like a hardboiled egg you'll observe that the motion is uneven at the beginning but then begins to pick up speed as the egg starts to rotate around it's own axis like a spintop.
Even if you now stop the larger circling motion the egg will keep spinning in place for quite some time.

As you see this simple game can help to teach about complex physics, train hand eye-coordination and fine motor-skill or serve as a rhythm and sound experiment.
