Game published 1988 by SSI (Gamefest CD-ROM compilation published 2001 by Interplay).
The very first "Gold Box" CRPG, and a prequel of sorts to my very first Let's Play series (on "Curse of the Azure Bonds"). I mention some of the differences between the MS-DOS version and other versions of this game (as well as between this game and later games in the series), create a character and a party, and drop them off at the docks in New Phlan, where Rolf the harbormaster's assistant is waiting to give us the 2GP "Chamber of Commerce" tour of town. Since the "most important building in town" is NOT a shopping mall (rats!), we'll just have to wander around town to find the shops we need to buy our starting gear in. (At least there are plenty of shops to choose from in New Phlan!)
