The simmer burner is a useful tool for keeping already cooked foods such as vegetables, casseroles or sauces warm or hot. Typically the smallest burner on your range, the simmer burner is located in the left or right rear area of your cooktop. For radiant cooktops the simmer burner is typically referred to as the “warm and ready” zone and found in the back center of the range. While useful for maintaining a consistent low-to-medium heat level, it is not recommended that you heat or cook cold food on the simmer burner or warm and ready element.
