TALES OF BERSERIA REVIEW
The game takes place before the events of Zestiria, you as the player take control over a powerful character named Velvet Crowe, the game''s story is based on revenge, when the villain sacrifices Velvet's younger brother Laphicet, she refuses to die until her revenege mission is complete.
Velvet sets out on a journey to kill the one responsible for her brother's death.
Berseria's story is told in a wonderful way, I found myself pleased throughout the story of the game, it's a game that focuses heavily on the storyline, a story of betrayal and revenge.
Berseria's gameplay is very similar to Zestiria, instead of the combining 2 characters like in the previous game, the player can now collect points and activate a "Soul Chain" transformation that is used for a limited time to cause powerful damage.
The world is beautifully designed and yet due to the outdated graphical engine, the full potential of the game's visuals results in a PS3 remaster looking game.
The battle system is satisfying but can get repetitive over time as you are going to battle a lot of times with no real variation and a really low EXP reward from normal enemy mobs, it's best to avoid single mobs for most of the time, not worth the effort and time for the rewards you receive in the first half of the game.
The full character cast is great, the way they interact is really fun to watch, it matches today's top anime in terms of character design, humourous and serious at the right moments.
Berseria is a good value for any gamer, you will get around 20hrs+ of main story and about 40hrs+ if you want to get the Platinium trophy. a real treat for JRPG fans.
