Faustman’s Grove ~ Original Fretless Gourd Banjo Song

Hey Everyone! 🌿💛 Here is an original tune that I wrote a few days ago on my fretless gourd banjo from Lowly Mountain Banjos.
This recording of it definitely is not perfect, as it is a newer song, and I haven’t rehearsed it as much. However, I wanted to share something original for my Thursday upload. I hope that you enjoy! I would love to start sharing more songs that I have written, as I have been writing since I was four years old.

Traveller’s Stray From Faustman’s grove
And it’s lure of melted gold
Many a loved man have left with their fame
But lay behind their souls

Mother told me of a man
But would not speak of his name
He’d lit my father phantom flames
which guided him to his grave

Brother then sang me of a place
It’s map etched by more than one hand
With promise to ease his godless grief
That night he left for this land

Traveller’s Stray From Faustman’s grove
And it’s lure of melted gold
Many a loved man have left with their fame
But lay behind their souls

Wise men pray for Faustman’s grove
And the lost who wander there
Gamble for riches gamble for wine
They gamble with death for their life


Brother turn this fool’s quest around,
Into his dust I wailed,
Though father walked a different path,
His shoes mark prints on your trail

Down at Faustman’s gate brother fell
at the feet of a man by the door

New to his eyes but old flame to desire
For many a face this man wore

Mother cursed at Faustman’s Grove
Wherein her child he lies
While drowning in its waters which soften his pain
