Russian celebrities and foreign guests wearing the latest fashion arrived Thursday (18 APRIL 2019) evening for Moscow's annual International Film Festival (MIFF).
In its 41st edition, MIFF is one of the oldest film festivals in the world. The first festival was held in the Soviet Union in 1935, with legendary Soviet film director Sergey Eisenstein among the jury.
Responding to AP's question about the fire earlier this week that partially destroyed Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, national Russian politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky said: "It's sad that the cathedral burned. But it is not necessary to give more help (towards it). In 24 hours they raised almost a billion euros. Poor people around the world are dying every day. The cathedral burned and that's it."
