Legendary Art Director/Production Designer Joe Alves is now officially one of our guest judges for the Hellbound Horror Festival.

In this interview we talk with Joe about his stellar career in cinema, working with Alfred Hitchcock, Steven Spielberg and John Carpenter. He is an Oscar nominee and BAFTA winner (Close Encounters of the Third Kind).

His art design/production work includes Forbidden Planet, Torn Curtain, JAWS, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Escape from New York. He also directed JAWS 3D.

It was an absolute pleasure to speak with Joe, a true legend of cinema and he shares many insights into his work in pre-production, production and post-production.

Hellbound Horror Festival Details:

A horror festival born out of the love of horror, what scares you, makes you feel and makes you think.

We will have a guest judge or two from the horror filmmaking world, authors and more. A Worldwide Event for the filmmaking and fan communities.

Submissions open 1st August - 1st October | Special Event 30th October

Rules:

Films must be at least 1 minute and no longer than 10 minutes in total. Anything longer will not be accepted into the festival.

Films submitted to our original 'Isolation Film Festival' cannot be submitted again for the 'Hellbound Horror Festival'.

All submitted films must have been made between 1st January 2020 and the 1st October 2020.
