Описание к видео Developing Equity-Centered High-Impact Mentorship Practices featuring San Francisco State University

Tune in to hear how San Francisco State University (SFSU) made mentorship a cornerstone of their strategic plan and retention strategy. As a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), SFSU centered historically underserved students in their program development process, ultimately delivering impact for over 4,000 students.

In this recording of our live event hosted on July 17, 2024, you'll hear Susanna Jones - First-Year Experience Faculty Director, Marisa Jimison - Transfer Support Coordinator, and Joe Michie - Senior Director of University Relations at Mentor Collective, take a deeper look at SFSU’s Peer2Peer program and how it:

retained 4x the number of Latinx students (versus those who did not take part in the program)
grew in participation by 440% since its start in 2019, creating access points and fostering belonging at scale
engaged students, with over 100,000 text messages sent between mentors and mentees
and, contributed to the institution’s retention goals by initiating nearly 25,000 needed student interventions.
