Hi, I'm Nadine Kam and welcome to my Hawaii food channel, a Hawaii restaurant guide to some of Oahu's best or newest restaurants. This week I'm sharing some July specials being offered at Maui Brewing Co.'s Kailua location, as well as the Chef's Table menu at Sho's Kitchen.

First, Maui Brewing Co.'s Kailua kitchen is like a lab for new dishes introduced as monthly specials to keep people coming back for more, and faves just might earn a coveted spot on the regular menu of the craft brewery. Try these while you can:

Shoyu ahi poke bowl with avocado, cucumbers, tomatoes, limu, furikake, scallion and onions.
If you love Buffalo chicken you’re gonna love the spicy Buffalo chicken dip! Creamy good for dipping tortilla chips!
Fried goat cheese and beet salad with a base of butter lettuce, the crunch of caramelized mac nuts and light lemon vinaigrette. Also, a seared ahi salad has a lot more than ahi on top. Try tomatoes, sliced egg, avocado, furikake goat cheese, pickled radishes and fried wonton strips.
Amazing flavors of Thai red curry shrimp pizza topped with mint, cilantro & basil.
Garlic shrimp tacos are extra spicy thanks to a pineapple and habanero salsa. Served with lime-accented Aloha Rice & cilantro crema to cut some of the heat.
As a finale, honey toast is topped with Kupu Whiskey caramel sauce, Roselani vanilla bean ice cream and surrounded by fresh fruit.
Cocktails included a thoroughly local-style li hing POG sloshie and lemonade gin sloshie.

MEANWHILE, back in Honolulu, Sho's Kitchen is known for its affordable Japanese bentos but I’m glad when chef Sho Namatame is able to also showcase his experience working in Mexico through some of his specials and his current July Chef’s Table weekend dinner tasting menu.

Available Friday and Saturday eves through the end of the month, the 7-course BYOB dinner features:
Juicy pan-seared furikake salmon skewer.
Lime-cured aguachile de camaron with salsa verde & corn tortillas.
Cold somen with cucumber soy milk sauce.
Shrimp & tomato salad with cilantro-lemongrass dressing.
Pan-fried hoki (blue grenadier), similar to butterfish in texture, with red wine-butter sauce, spinach & tomatoes.
Divine skirt steak arracherra tacos served with corn salsa, and salsa roja and a combo of cilantro & onions you could add to taste.
Dessert from Cake M. This time it was a slice of summery peach custard tart.
