Girl, Girl, Girl - Leon Ware (lp 'Education Of Sonny Carson' Paramount Records 1974)

Leon Ware is, probably, most famous for his 'I Want you' album by Marvin Gaye. It was Leon's own project, but Marvin was given the album to run with by Leon, so he penned his own 'Musical Massage' album, and the rest is history. Two years before that album release, Leon was featured on this Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson Paramount soundtrack album 'The Education Of Sonny Carson'. 'Girl, Girl Girl' was penned by CTP, but beautifully delivered by Leon Here. The rear cover of this album depicts our Sonny, a young unarmed black man being shot at by two police officers....so no historical change there then 40 years down the line! Any of Leon Ware's album releases are worth buying. Very few artists can release albums which are as consistent as this singers. Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson was a very highly respected pianist and composer, who passed away in 2004 from cancer.
