Use of CHEMetrics Dissolved Oxygen Water Analysis Test Kits in Power Plants

Описание к видео Use of CHEMetrics Dissolved Oxygen Water Analysis Test Kits in Power Plants

Effectively monitoring cycle chemistry in power plants relies on the availability, accuracy and trustworthiness of analyzer data, the quality of which is governed by a steam and water analysis system panel like this one manufactured by Sentry Equipment. This system safely transports a representative amount of the process stream without changing the parameters of interest.

For the testing of dissolved oxygen, analysts may rely on the CHEMetrics line of accurate, dependable, easy-to-use kits. They’re available for the testing of D.O. in the high, low and ultra-low ranges, and all kits employ the Rhodazine D ™ Method.

To conduct a test, first remove air bubbles potentially trapped in the system line by running a fast-flowing stream of sample water. Next, using the supplied accessory sampling tube, the operator submerges a vacuum-sealed ampoule into flowing sample that’s been cooled to ambient temperature. Now, snap the tip by gently pressing the upper end of the ampoule toward the wall of the sampling tube. The vacuum in the ampoule will cause it to fill, and the highly sensitive Rhodazine D™ reagent will react instantaneously to produce a pink color. Gently invert the ampoule several times, allowing the bubble to travel from end to end.

For the low range dissolved oxygen test (K-7540 on graphic), dry the ampoule and insert it into the round comparator. Hold the comparator up toward a source of light and view from the bottom, rotating the barrel until the best color match is found.

For the high range test, compare the ampoule to standards in the provided flat comparator.

Tests using ultra low range ampoules are conducted in similar fashion. The operator inserts the long ampoule into the corresponding round comparator, then holds it up to a light source to determine the test result.
