"Connecting Beth-Nahrain and Turtle Island: a conversation on Indigeneity, colonialism, and solidarity" was an online seminar organized by Assyrian Democrats of the Bay on February 8th, 2022. The main speaker was Speaker:
Dr. Mariam Georgis, Ph.D, SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow Department of Political Studies Mamawipawin: Centre for Indigenous Governance and Community Based Research from University of Manitoba, Canada. In this seminar she explored the meaning and workings of colonialism and how it connects Indigenous peoples globally. She also explored how anticolonial struggles connect Assyrians in the homeland to Assyrians in the Diaspora, and to First Nations in the Americas.
