Описание к видео Stunning historical villages of Switzerland, Ep.1 - Bauen, Lake Lucerne, Canton Uri

In this series we are going to explore together some of the most beautiful villages of Switzerland which are of national importance and are listed in the Federal Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites (ISOS).
In this episode we are visiting Bauen. It is an idyllic, historical village on Lake Lucerne in the Swiss canton of Uri. Alberich Zwyssig, the composer of the Swiss national anthem, "Trittst im Morgenrot daher", was born in Bauen. A bust of him is located in the small square near the village church. Because of its position on the lake, Bauen has a very mild climate. Palm, banana and fig trees are flourishing in its lush gardens and unspoilt landscape.
