I went to HIROSHIMA for the first time | JAPAN travel

I went to Hiroshima for the first time and it is now one of my favourite cities in Japan. Hiroshima has a complex and deeply moving history making it one of the most important places you can visit in Japan. My reaction to seeing Hiroshima for the first time was one of emotion and awe at how much Japan has rebuilt.

In this Japan travel vlog, we take a trip to Hiroshima. We explore the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and try some Hiroshima only food, the Hiroshima style okonomiyaki. Okonomiyaki is a savoury pancake dish, a traditional Japanese food. If you have ever wondered about Hiroshima vs Kansai style okonomiyaki that you would usually find in Tokyo and Osaka, then here is the answer:

Hiroshima style okomiyaki is distinguished by its layered ingredients and the inclusion of noodles that create a unique texture. The noodles are typically fried and seasoned before being incorporated into the dish, giving it a taste that is distinct from Kansai type okonomiyaki, where the ingredients are typically mixed together before cooking.
