The USS Defiant NX-74205 was introduced in Deep Space Nine as the station's defender and a guardian of the Alpha Quadrant against the Dominion. It is a favourite vessel of many a Star Trek fan and with good reason, although a controversial ship in the galaxy, in the lore.
