Josephine Lake is located near Stevens Pass in Washington State. It is primarily reached from Stevens Pass ski area on Highway 2 on the PCT. The primary access point results in a nearly 11 mile hike. We turned at the Stevens Pass Nordic Center and followed FR6960 about 5 miles until we were no longer comfortable with the poor condition of the road. This brought us within a half-mile of the PCT and made our hike a very pleasant 6 miles. I would not recommend the road for the average car, past the 4 mile point on the road. You will know it when you see it, in terms of when to stop.
