Calanais I southern major standstill event on 22/6/2024

Описание к видео Calanais I southern major standstill event on 22/6/2024

This video provides a speeded-up show of the lunar major standstill event set on June 22, 2024 (from 01:30 to 03:00 BST). The Moon is moving behind the (3D scan) of Calanais I (using Stellarium) as seen from Stone 8 (at the east-northern end of the avenue and at eye height).
A short explanation of the major standstill events can be found here:
http://www.archaeocosmology.org/eng/S...

It is using an accurate model (within 1arcmin seen from Stone 8) of the Calanais I standing stones. Over more than a year the site is visited (tropical-monthly) to see if the Moon appeared from behind the clouds. This happened only in 10% of the cases. This was enough to reach a proper ground proofing of the site; see for details:
http://www.archaeocosmology.org/eng/C...

More information on the team that worked on this and on the 3D scan of Calanais I within Stellarium see:

There was also a live simulation using Stellarium:
