Replacing The Power Cord On A Vintage Samsung 14 Inch CRT From 1992

Описание к видео Replacing The Power Cord On A Vintage Samsung 14 Inch CRT From 1992

Found this TV thrown out last year or the year before. I got it from the same house that I got the 19 inch GE CRT tv at, just not at the same time. This one I got first then a week or so later they threw out the other one. This TV however had a cut power cord. I don't know if it was cut before they tossed it or if scrappers took it for the copper. Replacement cord is just a basic 18AWG lamp cord but it's the same thickness as the original power cord on the TV.

Removing and reinstalling the back cover was a bit tricky cause the circuit board rides in a track for support so the back cover has to go on just right or it binds up. After temporally attaching the new cord I hooked it to a power transformer to adjust the voltage and bring it up to line voltage slowly to make sure everything works as it should. First attempt failed as I assumed according to what I read online that the wire with the white stripe was the neutral but it was the other way around.

Reversed the polarity and brought the voltage up slowly again. You can hear when I turned it on and you can see the red cable move. Tv works no issues. This TV will make a cameo in another video.
