How do you approach a round where there is a HUGE ET difference?

I find myself falling back onto the strategy discussed in today's video quite often. Even though I often times hear things like "you can't judge that car, better dial honest", I still tend to dial my car for a slight break out.

Approaching the race in this way allows you to "represent" a break out pass on the the race track, which can potentially induce a mistake to be made by your slower opponent.

I also find it much easier to make a finish line decision (take the stripe or give up the stripe) this way. If I know I am on a break out pass and it appears as if I can "just barely" get to the stripe first or it is "too close to tell", it makes the decision much easier to give it up. If the race looks like I have a big reaction time advantage (i.e. it looks like I'm going to get there by a bunch), I can comfortably take a big stripe while scrubbing the little bit of ET I know I'm carrying. What I CANNOT do consistently is take a SMALL stipe on a car with a big ET difference, so I try to stay out of that situation as much as possible, and carrying a little on the dial seems to help this.
