Large Nativity Diorama, ‘Bethlehem Village’ at the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd, Singapore

It was in 2017, that the largest scale the husband & wife team and helpers ever embarked on was @cathedralofthegoodshepherd and this year in 2022, the diorama is displayed again for the Christmas season.
The diorama measures 6m x 4m (ht) using 12” scale hand-painted Italian Fontanini figurines.

As most of the figurines were sourced from Rome, many other pieces were made from repurposed material. For example, egg trays for the façade and flooring of buildings, recycled wood & wine crates for the sheep pen, converting a wooden flower pot into a well, and little ornaments that were sourced over the years from their travels.

Over the next few years, to make the scene even more interesting mechanical-moving figurines were added to bring the diorama to ‘life’ 😊thus drawing many multi-generational families to visit ‘Bethlehem Village’.
