How Wrestling Companies Screw Over Wrestlers

For decades, WWE, AEW, TNA, ECW, WCW (mostly) and every other major wrestling company has screwed over their wrestlers by signing them to independent contracts. Wrestlers are seen as independent contractors, yet in most cases meet the criteria to be classified as employees, and are therefore entitled to benefits like pensions, health insurance, protection from getting fired and workplace discrimination, the ability to work for other promotions, etc. There will likely never be a union in wrestling, and a ten year UFC lawsuit ended in a settlement that will ultimately not change the hiring policies under the TKO banner.
