Richie Sambora | Live at Circus Krone | Munich 2012

The very short solo tour for Richie's solo album "Aftermath of the Lowdown" which was announced on an even shorter notice. By now, we all know why that had been the case. However, he still rocked the Kronebau in Munich that night! When he launched into the opening chords of I'll Be There For You, the whole place went mad! Those were louder cheers than I had probably heard at any of my 12 Bon Jovi gigs. During Fallen From Graceland, the singer of the Swiss band "Undiscovered Soul" started running from the rafters down to the stage (from the left side in this video angle) and jumped on it faster than the band realized. Richie didn't really know how to handle it at first, it felt a bit weird to say the least. Be aware that not the entirety of the show has been recorded, it's about 90 minutes worth of material! Still, while cutting in a few seconds into the songs, there are no cuts inbetween and most of Richie's material is basically completely featured! The only one that's sadly (almost completely) missing is You Can Only Get So High which later on became one of my all-time favourites! Other than that, I think only parts of the Hungry Heart interlude and Golden Slumbers in the encore aren't featured.
This show was filmed from the nosebleeds, meaning really the upper row on the opposite side of the building. It was done by a good friend of mine, so if you hear some annyoing singing from time to time, that's most likely me then :D
The sound mix was a bit muddy and the location meant that all kinds of noises inebetween stage and the filmer got picked up, but after some work, I think it's decent and especially the lower end comes through nicely. Filmed with a digital photo camera, there was some automatic audio levelling (meaning that the recording level was lowered as the band was louder), leading to the cheering having been louder as the music. I manually tried to adjust all these parts, it still may be slightly noticeable in some spots. It's the first time the original 720p files see the light of day! I've never done a premiere with 50fps material before, so no idea if that works well :D
