1965 Ford Fairlane 500 - Mid-sized American Muscle Car

The Fairlane model was Ford’s classy intermediate in nineteen sixty-five, with the Fairlane 500 being the top trim level of the line. It was built on the Falcon platform and the first year that Ford moved from circular taillights.

There were 224,000 units produced that year and nearly half of them were 4 door models. Although the remaining two-door models were over-shadowed by the new Ford Mustang, these mid-60’s classics were popular on drag strips and considered an American muscle car.
