A River Through Time. A Journey Down The Wanapitei River And A Look Back In Time.

The Wanapitei River was the first river I ever had the opportunity to paddle. I was invited by my Uncle David to join the trip with some other family and friends.

That was the beginning of my love for canoes and the amazing places they can take you. More trips would follow in the next few years, always under his guidance but that first one has always stood out to me.

In the late 90's Uncle Dave was diagnosed with caner and finally lost the fight in April of 2000. That summer is set out alone to travel the entire length of the Wanapitei out to Georgian Bay. 28 days alone to reflect and remember the man that had such a profound impact on mine and so many others lives.

24 years later, I'm now back on that same river, to see how much we've both changed.
