Join us as we explore the tale of two best friends, Cheeni and Mini, and how a piece of bread tests their friendship.
Story:
Once upon a time, in a dense forest, all the animals lived together in peace and followed the rules of the jungle. They celebrated every festival together with joy. Among these animals were two cats named Cheeni and Mini, who were the best of friends. They were inseparable, taking care of each other when sick, going out together, and even eating their meals together. Everyone in the jungle admired their strong bond.
One day, Mini had to go to the market for some work, but Cheeni couldn't accompany her. Feeling lonely, Cheeni decided to take a walk to the market by herself. On her way, she found a piece of bread. Overcome by greed, she took it home, thinking of eating it alone. Just as she was about to eat it, Mini returned and saw the bread in Cheeni's hands.
Mini asked, "We always share everything. Are you not going to share the bread with me today?" Cheeni, afraid and internally cursing Mini's timing, hastily replied, "Oh no, sister, I was just about to cut it in half so we could share it equally." Mini understood the situation but said nothing, as she too felt a twinge of greed.
When the bread was divided, Mini cried out that her piece was smaller. Cheeni, who had found the bread, wanted to keep more for herself but still insisted it was equally divided. Their argument escalated and soon spread throughout the jungle.
A monkey passing by saw them arguing and offered to divide the bread equally. Reluctantly, both cats handed the bread to the monkey. The monkey brought out a scale and placed the pieces of bread on each side. Whenever one side weighed more, he would eat a bit from that side, claiming to balance the weight. He continued this until only tiny pieces were left on each side.
When the cats saw how little was left, they asked the monkey to return the remaining bread, saying they would share it themselves. The monkey laughed and said, "Oh, you cunning cats, won't you reward me for my hard work?" Saying this, he ate the remaining pieces and left, while the cats stared at each other in dismay.
Moral of the Story:
We should never be greedy. We must be content with what we have and share it with others. Greed can lead to losing even what we possess.
