Modified filter mask was used to make a type of respirator that would allow the welding helmet to pull down all the way. A normal mask would get in the way of the welding helmet , closing down onto the filters that stick out the side of the respirator. It also serves to relocate the filters in such that they are not directly over the fumes of welding or area of grinding. The parts were easily were obtained from hardware stores.
