Olympus E-M1 Mark III (and Mark II): How to get external power and HDMI at the same time!

Описание к видео Olympus E-M1 Mark III (and Mark II): How to get external power and HDMI at the same time!

Want to use a USB battery bank for extended shooting while ALSO being able to use the Olympus E-M1 Mark III’s HDMI port? Are you looking for an external power solution for your Mark II (and perhaps other non-USB-powered camera models)?

In this video, I discuss the Mark III’s USB-C/HDMI shortcoming and demonstrate how an inexpensive cable will allow you to bypass this problem when using the Olympus HLD-9 grip.

If a firmware update corrects this issue, or if someone else knows about a setting I've missed that does the same, I'll make note it here in the description. HOWEVER, given that this setup will allow you to use external power even if all your Olympus batteries are dead, or missing, (PD power requires and internal battery with at last 10% juice to work) I feel it's still an interesting option for video shooters. In addition, it's still a great hack for the Mark II and potentially other camera bodies for Olympus and other manufacturers.
