Northern Illinois Air Show in Waukegan, IL 9-09-2023, the North American F-86 Sabre goes through engine warm up, taxis, brief flyby, then taxis back and hits me with a jet blast before powering down. Also seen is the Navy T2-C Buckeye trainer plane starting up.
The F-86 was the first USAF jet capable of confronting the MiG-15 over MiG Alley during the Korean War. With its swept-back wings, powerful engine, and .50 caliber machine guns, this gorgeous aircraft helped the US take back the skies over the 38th Parallel.
