The 2014 Ferrari Mess Explained

The 2014 Formula 1 season was the beginning of a new era for the sport. With a massive overhaul of the technical regulations, Mercedes would become the benchmark while Ferrari struggled throughout the year. The Ferrari F14T is one of Ferrari's most disappointing cars. Ferrari fans had high hopes for the new era, with some notable designers on board and a driver paring of Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen, there was reason to be optimistic. But in the background, Ferrari's structure fell apart. While Ferrari poached legendary designer Adrian Newey, figures high up within the team resigned and others were replaced which proved to be unhelpful during such an unstable season. Ferrari would eventually part ways with Fernando Alonso at the end of the season and 4x World Champion Sebastian Vettel would join for the 2015 season.
