Emerald Lake is unlocked very early into the game, and is excellent for earning quick XP and money with early setups. You can target Walleye with all rod types, but the most lucrative way to catch them is with a bottom rod.
Walleye are also easy to catch with a spinning rod, so I suggest to lay out all your bottom rods while casting a spinning rod.

The best lure that early players will have access to in order to catch walleye is a 1/4 oz #1/0 narrow spoon. In order to catch walleye with a bottom rod, what I believe is the best gear is a #1/0 hook with small minnows.
