Although only a couple of decades old, it seems like Mahesh Prasad has been a part of Mysore's culinary scene forever. Hugely popular with locals for its all day vegetarian offerings, and I suspect, also for its cosy, homely setting that conveys to diners the comforting, gold ole vibes of yesteryear, I stopped by to savour a wholesome vegetarian thali, that finds its culinary roots in South Canara albeit in a flavour tone that is suited to local preferences, a delicious bonda soup, a dish that doesn’t get nearly the recognition it deserves, and some more.
