PlayOut! is an annual event created by cellist David Sands, dedicated to celebrating and showcasing the talents of LGBTQIA+ composers and artists. This particular concert was held on June 21st, 2024, at the Chicago Symphony Center in collaboration with and in full support of Allegrezza Singers, a local choir that shares joy and gives back to the Chicago community. The evening consisted of inspiring performances that highlighted diversity, inclusion, and artistic excellence in the classical music world. Our mission is to amplify the voices of LGBTQIA+ musicians, fostering a community of support and visibility.

This year's program, "True Colors," was a musical mosaic inspired by the 1978 Pride Flag designed by Gilbert Baker. Our kick-off performance was an arrangement of "Pynk" by Janelle Monáe, a powerful anthem of empowerment and a true celebration of sexuality. In the spirit of celebrating love and being unapologetically bold, we dedicate this performance to anyone here who loves their pu$$y!
