Wendy's Peanut Butter Cake
18-ounce Dolly Parton Yellow Cake Mix or your favorite
1-1/2 cups milk
4 Eggs
10 Tablespoons melted Butter
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup Peanut Butter
Whisk all cake ingredients together for 1 minute. Pour into (2) 8-inch or 9-inch buttered cake rounds. Bake at 350 degrees F until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Let cool a few minutes in the pan and then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING RECIPE:
(2) 16-ounce containers of Dolly Parton's Creamy Buttercream (or your favorite)
1 cup Peanut Butter (I used Jiffy)
2 capfuls Vanilla Extract
Whisk together well in a bowl.
To assemble cake: Place 1 layer of cake upside down on a cake plate. Frost top and place the second layer upside down too to make a flat top. Now frost the sides and top. Put the remainder of the frosting into a piping bag with a star tip. Pipe star dollops around the edge of the top of the cake to make a circle. Place a Reese's Peanut Butter cup on its side between each dollop as I did in the video. If you do not wish to add the decor to the top you will only need half of the frosting recipe.
