Western Maryland Steam Engine

Описание к видео Western Maryland Steam Engine

WM #734, a 1916 Baldwin-built 2-8-0 steam locomotive painted in WM "fireball" livery, was originally built for the LS&I as #34. The locomotive came to the line from the Illinois Railway Museum in 1991. After an extensive rebuild, it entered service in 1992; it has received several modifications over the years to give it more of a WM appearance (Wikipedia). #734 as been the star of the scenic railroad for many years and the end of this year will be its last for a long time as it will be getting an extensive rebuild. Replacing it in the meantime will be the C&O 2-6-6-2 which is planned to be ready by May 2016. With the final days of WM #734 coming to a long pause, this video features the old steam engine as it makes its way uphill from Cumberland, Maryland to Frostburg Maryland on September 26th, 2015. Enjoy!
