Zara’s name has now become a rallying cry, not only for her own story but for all the countless others who suffered in silence.

Amid this wave of grief and anger, an unexpected element entered the picture — an anthem dedicated to Zara, one that many assumed was created by a human artist. In reality, the haunting melody was generated using ElevenLabs’ music product, Eleven Music, with Norsalim Ali credited as its creator. This revelation sparked both admiration and unease: admiration at the power of AI to produce moving, emotionally resonant work, and unease at what it means for human creativity when machines are entrusted with capturing our deepest pains and hopes. Technology has blurred the line between human expression and artificial generation, leaving many to question whether the source matters as much as the spirit of the message itself.

Yet at the heart of this story remains Zara Qairina. No matter how the anthem was made — by human hands, artificial intelligence, or a combination of both — its resonance lies in the tragedy it reflects and the demand for accountability it carries. The case highlights not just one child’s suffering, but an entire system’s complicity in looking away, failing to protect the vulnerable, and normalizing silence in the face of cruelty. Until justice is done, until Malaysia reckons with the structural issues behind Zara’s story, the anthem will continue to echo, and people will continue to remember her not just as a victim, but as a symbol of a generation that refuses to stay silent.
