Hello everyone, I'm Samuel from Pomfort and today we will take a look at 7 features that help you simplify and speed up your dailies creation process in Silverstack Lab.

Feature 1: Prepare the shoot with your personal project settings file

Silverstack Lab allows to export and import project settings. They contain the library folder structure, copy job templates, table view presets and also your transcoding configurations. Use your project settings file to transfer your transcoding configurations to multiple machines or simply bring in the presets you prepared remotely before the shoot.

Feature 2: Use slate information from audio clips

The automatic audio sync wizard allows to take over slate information from the metadata of broadcast wave audio files. Save time by using the slate information that has already been entered thoroughly by the audio operator


Feature 3: Fix audio sync offsets across entire bins

After syncing external audio by timecode you can slip the audio frame-wise to adjust possible audio offsets. When the timecode has drifted over time and all clips of a card have the same offset it can be transferred to the entire bin or a selection of clips.

Feature 4: Name your transcoded clips with scene and take names

Besides creating custom folder structures for your transcoding destinations the wildcard option in the transcoding wizard serves for even renaming the transcoded clip’s files. Just leave out the slash that indicates a new directory and build your custom clip name based on the available metadata.

Feature 5: Let Silverstack Lab automatically queue copy and transcoding jobs

Copy and transcoding jobs can either run in parallel in the background or can automatically be queued for subsequent processing by the application. Silverstack Lab can automatically pause transcoding jobs during copy and playback processes in order to free resources for example for proper realtime playback.

Feature 6: Find the transcoded clips for a source clip and vice versa

The file tab in the right bar helps you to jump from source clips to transcoded clips and vice versa. Easily locate all associated clips and also copy new metadata to already transcoded clips. The overview helps to quickly find certain transcoded clips for example for backup or quality control reasons.


Feature 7: Check the completeness of your dailies

The "Workflow" section in the project statistics gives you an overview of the status of your clips in the library. Do not only make sure that all clips have been transcoded but also check all clips for external audio or a custom look in one handy overview.
