Hello everyone, this past weekend on Saturday, September 24th, 2022, I had the opportunity of operating NYCT IND Subway Car R9 #1689 at the Shoreline Trolley Museum through the Guest Motorman Day Experience. I definitely recommend the experience, especially if you live in the Tri state and always wanted to drive a train or trolley! A few times a year the Shoreline Trolley Museum holds an event called Guest Motorman Day. On these days various Trolleys, Rapid Transit Cars, & Subway Cars are taken out from this collection. During the day there are allotted one hour time slots where you pick one of the cars available for that day to operate. There are usually anywhere from 3-6 choices. The morning times slots are usually for the Trolleys and small work/heavy equipment while the afternoon are the Subway, Rapid Transit Cars, & Heavy Work Equipment. Depending on which car or trolley you pick to drive the prices can range from $100 + tax to $150 + tax. My experience included 2 round trips on their line + a memento for my vist. It was a really awesome experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!! Shout Out to the Staff ‪@shorelinetrolleymuseum‬for making it an awesome day!
