New Jersey Brain and Spine's Dr. Karimi discusses cerebral angiograms, shedding light on this crucial medical procedure used to diagnose and treat neurological conditions.

— What is a cerebral angiogram? —

A cerebral angiogram is a minimally invasive diagnostic test conducted with a specialized X-ray and contrast dye. The x-ray image helps doctors find abnormalities of the arteries and veins including aneurysms, AVMs, and stenosis (narrowing) in the blood vessels of the brain.

During this diagnostic test, the doctor injects contrast into the arteries which enables us to have a detailed visual image of the blood vessels, including any abnormalities of the arteries or veins.
