This Lanmark Controls tutorial video shows you how to configure the laser and lens for the LEC embedded scan controller for your laser marking system using WinLase LAN.

Each LEC device needs to be configured for the laser that it's connected to and the lens that is being used by the scan head. And, in order to do that, you need to connect to the LEC. With the connected LEC, which is indicated by the blue icon, you go to system preferences, and then hardware. And you'll see that there are two icons in this box...the LEC that we just connected to, and what's called the offline configuration. The laser and the lens for the LEC are selected underneath the corresponding LEC icon. You would simply click on the laser, click change, and then select the appropriate laser type from the list. The same thing for the lens. Let's select the laser.
As you can see, the offline configuration has the same settings now because that's a selection that was made. It's important that these are the same because the offline settings are used to design jobs when they are not assigned to an LEC, and because you may want to program jobs without being connected to a device and run those jobs later. So, the job that you're creating needs to have the parameters of the device that you will be connecting to and marking at a later time. And that's the reason for the offline settings. When you select the actual laser that you want to use you can also choose "apply to offline configuration".
