Dallas, Texas is one of the largest cities in Texas, and there are plenty of things to see and do in the city. If you are looking to check out Dallas without breaking your budget, here are some FREE things to do in Dallas which I highly recommend!

Giant Eyeball - Located in downtown Dallas, there is a giant eyeball which stares at you from afar. Although it is located on private property and people are not allowed to visit it up close, you can admire it from afar and take cool selfies.

Dealey Plaza - Located around the area where Dallas was founded, this plaza is infamously known for being the site where former U.S. President John F. Kennedy was tragically assassinated on November 22, 1963. The Sixth Floor Museum nearby offers some great historical context into the presidency of JFK and the day of the assassination. Although the museum itself has an admission fee, visiting the plaza itself is free.

John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza - About a couple blocks east of Dealey Plaza is a memorial built to honor the late President John F. Kennedy.

Pioneer Plaza - Located in downtown Dallas a few blocks south of the JFK Memorial Plaza, the Pioneer Plaza is a beautiful plaza with numerous statues of longhorns and cowboys honoring the Western culture and heritage Texas is famous for. You can get some amazing photos from this plaza.

Deep Ellum - Located just east of downtown Dallas, Deep Ellum is a very hip neighborhood with many local shops, restaurants, and bars. This is a great spot to grab some food and take a walk to check out the amazing street art throughout the area.

Dallas Museum of Art - Located in downtown Dallas, the Dallas Museum of Art has a vast collection of different paintings and sculptures from all over the world. With the exception of some special galleries, the admission fee is free for everyone.

Klyde Warren Park - Located on top of a freeway between downtown and Uptown, Klyde Warren Park is a great spot to relax and check out some of the many food trucks which are parked on the side of the road.

M-Line Trolley - Located in the upscale Uptown neighborhood is the M-Line Trolley which is a free trolley which runs mostly on McKinney Ave serving the Uptown neighborhood as well as connects Uptown with downtown. There is no fee to ride the trolley although a $5 donation is requested.

Ronald Kirk Bridge - Just west of Dallas near Trinity Groves is a great spot to check out the Dallas skyline with views of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge nearby. If you are looking for that spectacular photo of Dallas at sunrise or sunset, this is a great place to go!
