This shopping guide is NOT for the luxury shopper, but for the budget to mid-range shopper (like myself!). If you are shopping for the high-end fashion brands, a quick Google search or a drop by any of the many duty-free malls around Seoul will lead you straight to what you’re searching for :)

Hongik Univ. Station (홍대입구역) Exit 9

Hongdae Shopping Street (main shopping street)
Recommended for cheap, young fashion
Price guide: 10,000 - 20,000 KRW

Wausan-ro 27-gil (boutique shopping street)
Recommended if you want to buy more classic, elegant pieces
Higher priced, but also better quality!
Price guide: 30,000 - 40,000 KRW (and can range higher or lower depending on the item of course)

Tips:
Visit later in the afternoon to evening to catch the famous Hongdae busking!
Make sure to bring cash :)

EXPRESS BUS TERMINAL 고속버스터미널
Express Bus Terminal Station (고속터미널역) Exit 8-1 / 8-2

Goto Mall (Express Bus Terminal Underground Shopping Mall)
Very cheap, budget shopping
Price guide: 5,000 - 20,000 KRW

Tips:
Wear comfortable walking shoes because you’ll be doing a lot of walking!
Make sure to bring cash :)

SINSA GAROSUGIL 신사 가로수길
Sinsa Station (신사역) Exit 8

Garosugil
Once you exit Sinsa Station, a quick Google Map of Garosugil will lead you straight there :)
Plenty of boutiques, both and international major brands, flagship stores
Price guide: varies depending on what you’re shopping for!

Tips:

DONGMYO 동묘
Dongmyo Station (동묘역) Exit 3

Dongmyo Flea Market
Great for vintage and thrift shoppers
You might have to do some digging, but treasures can be found!
Price guide: as low as 2,000 KRW for a shirt, to 100,000 KRW and up for vintage designer pieces

Tips:
The street market expands on the weekends, so you might want to visit then~!
Make sure to bring cash :)

Cheap, trendy fashion

Myeongdong Station (명동역) Exit 6

Myeongdong Shopping Street
A great one-stop shop
Very foreigner-friendly
Best place for K-beauty, snacks, gifts and souvenir shopping
Price guide: varies depending on what you’re shopping for

Tips:
Visit in the afternoon to early evening when all the street food stalls are set up and the streets are buzzing with people!
If you need to exchange money, there are plenty of currency exchange shops around
