CJ began playing baseball year-round when he was 5 years old. The pitcher was warming up his arm when he felt a pop in this throwing elbow. Scans revealed his worst fears - it was a total UCL tear. Already recruited by Bridgewater State University, the high school senior worried the injury would derail his dream of playing baseball at the next level. After discussing his options with Dr. Andrew Green at University Orthopedics, CJ decided skipping his senior season and having Tommy John surgery gave him the best chance of playing ball in college.
